Do I need to be very fit to join a MuayThai program?
A: No, you don t. It is BXG s mission to get our students into shape, both physically and mentally. No matter what your present level of physical fitness is, our programs are flexible and designed to adapt to your level of fitness.

Q: What are the benefits of practicing MuayThai?
A: MuayThai trains co-ordination of the fists, legs, elbows and knees, as well as hand-leg-eye coordination. Therefore it improves your body movement coordination, flexibility, strength and stamina. MuayThai is known as one of the best systems of self defense. It enables you to defend yourself from strong attacks, countering with elbows jabs and kicks. At BXG, we strongly believe in the importance of hands-on practicum i.e. you learn by doing.

Q: Can MuayThai replace my aerobics classes?
A: MuayThai is not only practical, it is also a great workout. It is an easy way to burn fat and develop lean muscles. Kicking is great for the abs, buns and thighs. Punching is great for the back, arms, shoulders and it increases your cardiovascular endurance. 1 hour of MuayThai kickboxing burns more calories than most aerobics exercises. MuayThai is also a wonderful way to relieve stress. There is nothing more satisfying than punching and kicking at the training bags and working out at the same time to release all the stress built up during the day. You get the best of both worlds. Its the perfect full-body workout and its fun!

Q: What can I expect from a class?
A: There is a style to suit each individual, from hard-knock fighter s gym to studios that have a strict non-contact policy. A class at BXG follows an uniquely designed format. Usually an hour long, each session starts with an invigorating warm-up and stretch. Individual techniques are then taught and practiced to improve and develop skills. The main component of the lesson then begins where students will pad each other. This involves controlled kicking and punching, concentrating not on power, but accuracy and speed. This is the most popular part, with the excitement and creativity of practicing numerous combinations in a fast-paced, pumping atmostphere. Classes generally wind down with an exercise circuit and stretch.

Q: Is MuayThai a risky sport? Since it involves some contact, will I get injured?
A: Our training programs range from full-contact to non-contact. The contact level is entirely up to you. We use the safest equipment and cut no corners for your safety. Only students that have obtained the necessary skills are allowed to participate in contact training. BXG instructors are certified and experienced and place your safety in the highest priority. The chances of getting injured in MuayThai are no higher than any other sports, for example soccer and basketball.

Q: How different is BXG from other gyms or fitness studios?
A: BXG is an exclusive, boutique boxing & fitness studio. Only registered members and students are permitted entry into the gym. BXGs facilities are clean and modern, providing our members and student with the ideal training environment. Our studio is fully equipped with boxing, body sculpting and weight-training apparatus. Of course, most importantly, the environment is friendly and approachable.

Q: Is BXG MuayThai suitable for every one?
A: At BXG, the programs are flexible and cater to a wide range of fitness levels. Fitness and fun arethe key objectives of our programs and they can be tailored for anyone.

Q: How long will it take for me to become proficient in MuayThai?
A: It all depends on you. If you want to take it easy, you may take as long as you want. If you are ambitious, you can become well-versedin MuayThai within 2-3months. We also have personal training courses for members and students who prefer one-on-one supervision. Normally, within three months of regular training you will have acquired noticeable MuayThai skills.

Q: How big are the classes?
